TMEPB is dedicated to the study of traditional Tibetan books, their fabrication and design, history and development, and the conventions used within them. It provides access to resources that enlarge upon, and encourage the reader to explore, those presented in Tibetan Manuscripts and Early Printed Books: An Introduction and Guide, edited by Matthew T. Kapstein and published by the Cornell University Press.

Hosted by the Buddhist Digital Resource Center, it draws upon the rich BDRC archive of digitally scanned Tibetan works, with numerous links to other pertinent digital archives. Users of this resource are invited to contribute their suggestions, particularly when they are aware of digital Tibetan manuscripts or xylographs in the BDRC or other online archives that they believe should be added here, by writing to: manuscripts@bdrc.org
